About our Flight Guides

Every Dragonfly Innovation art project includes our revolutionary "Flight Guide" instructions, designed to stimulate real creative thinking and innovation. We want to encourage you to focus on the inspiration that comes from the process of creating, rather than the final result (although this approach often results in some very exciting and original works of art!)

To make it easy to get started, fun art techniques are pictured on each page. Open-ended questions then inspire you to think innovatively about the many ways a project can be completed. Just like in real life, there’s never just one way to do our kits.

We also include quick messages that explain different creative methods, dispel myths about creativity, and provide encouragement to budding artists.

We never show a picture of a finished project in our Flight Guides or on our box. We don’t want kids to feel they have to "measure up" to a professional artist’s final product. Instead, they are free to explore their own imaginative ideas.

About our What's the Buzz? Cards

Fun conversation starter cards that foster creative discussion

• Designed to take your thoughts in new directions and spark new ideas, these cards ask open-ended, thought-provoking (and sometimes silly!) questions.
• Use them while you’re doing a Dragonfly project to help spark new ideas, or any time you want to think "out of the box."
• They can also lead to some entertaining and possibly enlightening conversation between friends and family members (of all generations).
• Great for the dinner table or on car trips!

A set of 12 is included with most of our kits, or you can order a deck of 60.

About our Guidance for Grownups

We hope to help you and your kids see how creativity is not just "art" or "crafts," but a life skill.

Many adults think they are not creative or are poor artists because of the way they were taught art when they were kids. The information in our projects help parents get on the creativity track too.

We give you a few simple suggestions you can use every day on how to create an environment that encourages creativity

We want to help parents help their kids discover their natural artistic and creative abilities.
